So, what do we have?

Sat Jun 7, 2008, 2:03 AM
Our club exists for almost half a year. My goal, initially, was to unite people who like the unorthodox idea of bones and carcasses in art: as a means of expression, documentation or for porpusses of education; from around the world.
So, what do we have in the club today?

We have 19 members, counting me :iconsnoosmumrik:
13 of those are women ( in the beginning, it was six girls and me).
6 or more (see: iconDreamingDragonDesign:) are males.
Which proves again that bones are a girl-thing.

12 members are from America (10 in USA, 2 in canada, 1 in Mexico)
4 are from Europe (2 from the UK, 1 from France, 1 from Norway)
1 is from Australia
And one, me, is from the middle east.

Now we have to recruit someone from South America, Someone from Africa and optionally, someone from China and Antarctica, and then we would be able to take over the world.

We have 38 photographies submitted to the gallery :
11 of these are simple skeletons and skulls.
9 are carcasses at different stages.
11 are of the jewel and sculpture crafts.
2 are of skins.
3 are uncategorised.
And two are of shamelessly boneless insects.
We have 8 paintings and drawings.
And 5 collages by :iconMurderInRechnicolour:
One animation by :iconsesroh:
And one tutorial by :icondonsimpson:

We have the skulls of a:
Some whitetail does
Some horses
A boxer dog
Some humans (plastic)
Some foxes
Several other dogs
Some cats
Some crows
Some American opossums
Some kine
A pig
A ram
A coyote
A Groundhog
A Cottontail Rabbit
An Unknown Species of Seagull
An American Coot Duck
Some Eastern Box Turtles
A Five-lined Skink
A Shrew
A domesticated rabbit
Some rats
A mink
A sparrow
A hedgehog
And several other animal skulls and other parts.

Oh, and a portion of Israel's insects.

Keep the good work and sorry for the bad English :-)

*cough* Actually, ~DreamingDragonDesign is a couple. As the female in that couple, I can assure you that my partner doesn't really like bones that much. All the bone art on there is mine....

Bones are very much a girl thing.

When we own the world, it should no longer be difficult/expensive for me to obtain skull specimens of wildlife from areas other than North America!

Balance is the key to a happy, healthy world!
Actually, I wish to make it possible for the members of the club to swap specimens between them (don't know how to do that yet).
I'll give you mongoose and chameleon skulls. You'll give me opossum.

Just because wer'e scum, doesn't mean we have to worship a broom.
That's a good idea! Hopefully we'll eventually find an easy way to ship back and forth. I know regulations can make it difficult to ship animal parts overseas.
