Crow season

Mon May 11, 2009, 10:46 AM
I have none but my apology to offer you for not being logged in for so long.
Also, I have to remind you that other members of the club also have the password to it, and they seem not to have visited it during my abcense.

Sorry for making you wait.

Anyway, it's crow season now in Israel. Or as I put it:

The reaper of crows

He knows.

That many a thing

Spread first wing in the Spring.

And high in the sky

They fly.

They eagerly greet

All the perils they meet.

Some learn to beware.

Some die.

Time for new bone art.

--------------------------------------------------

Also, one of our more shocking works: "what lies beneath" (Showing a skinned cat)has been reported to the Devart staff and determined "unacceptable". Deletion followed.

No one even tried to tell us why they think it was so illegal in this site. We can show skinned humans everywhere, but not skinned animals, it seems.
I guess it is us, bone artists, against ignorance all over again. Like in the old times (I think all of us have some past experience - "old times" - with this misunderstanding of our art)
It's bones vs boneheads.

I think you should join our club.
We have many real skulls, but not much death-themed art.

Hello there! ya got some pretty cool skull & bone work in your gallery!

Just wondering is theres any way you could get hold of a crocodile skull thats about 9-11 inches long? I'm currently doing a tribute piece to 1 of my favourite artist - Jean Tinguely & the centre piece is a croc skull (well at least a cast of it) Been searching high & low for 1, but with no luck! & living in the UK doesn;t help of course!

If you or any of your group memebers could help me out, I would be very greatful! =)

Cheers

Sorry. The last crocodile in Israel was shot in the 1920's.
So I, Snoosmumrik, cannot help you in that. The Americans in our club should be luckier.

PS most of the bones and decay stuff you see on my page is natural, few shot from a museum... used to know the cooking and water and beetle and ants techniques...
